Why are you a Veterinary Doctor?

Growing up in the 90s, I’d drank from the same water source as cattle, sheep, goats, and dogs in Zomzomno village of Zuru LGA, Kebbi State, with my grandfather. One of the advantages of being a Veterinarian is possessing the knowledge and ability to bridge the gap between animal and human health.

Do you support meat consumption?

Yes, I do. As a source of protein, meat-free from diseases and drug residues is important to the proportional growth and mental wellbeing of man.

Biography
Dr. Salam Samson Polycarp is an Epidemiologist. He attended St. Anthony Nursery/Primary School, Lagos State from 1987-1993. Graduating from Government Science College Zuru, in 1999, he proceeded to read Veterinary Medicine in Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto from 2000 – 2007. In his quest for deeper knowledge, He now has a Masters of Science in Veterinary Epidemiology (M.Sc.; ABU, 2018) and a Masters of Public Health in Field Epidemiology with the Nigerian Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (NFELTP) (MPH; UI, 2019). In addition, he’s a Member in Public health specialty and Fellow in Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology specialty of the College of Veterinary Surgeons, Nigeria (MCVSN; VCN, 2015: FCVSN; VCN, 2021)
