Literature, Tradition, and Society: A Festschrift on Kyuka Lilymjok

I can only but be thankful to God for my research paper, EXPLORING THE TRAUMA OF SOCIAL CRISES IN ADAMU KYUKA USMAN’S “THE DEATH OF ETERNITY”  which has been included in a Festschrift on Kyuka Lilymjok. This research work was therapeutic personally for me as I have had to find a way around traumatic experiences in life, but like water, I always find a way.  As I dived into it, I was educated and informed about trauma, pollution and all that it entails. What a catharsis the process was indeed.

This is a collection of fourteen insightful research papers from different people from different institutions and levels in life which has its focus on the literary prowess,  of Adamu Kyuka Usman, a professor of law, statesman, and an award-winning prolific author of several novels, short stories, and critical essays. Researchers from different institutions and levels in life. It is indeed only important to celebrate such a brilliant contributor to the African literary canon. And I feel privileged to have my work side by side with men and women I look up to and admire in pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.

My beautiful, intelligent tutor and project supervisor Dr. Aisha Umar, M. has all to do with this impeccable, publication. I want to say a very big thank you and I pray that you remain a blessing, and by His grace, this fire you have ignited will not be put out. You are appreciated

Indeed to educate and inform brings liberation, a mind’s capacity to adapt to new input is limitless, so in all your searching, gain wisdom. Below are two paragraph from the book, from my own part of the research paper, for your enjoyment.

“Trauma theory highlights the effects of social crises than prescribe the treatment for these effects. trauma causes a distribution and reorientation of consciousness, but the values attached to this experience are influenced by various individual and cultural factors that change over time. Kyuka Lilymjok takes on a crucial and timely subject, the despoliation of the West African environment   by European corporate greed.”

” Social crises affect society by hindering its development and goals that are built to protect and provide shelter, food, and security for its people. literature is affected when educational capabilities crumble and are unable to function. The teacher and the learner can only hope for free artistic expression in a nation that allows them. The fear of death has silenced many creative minds. The death of eternity reflects how society can be over by social crises that nothing is spared by its deadly consequence”
