Fuel Subsidy
In Nigeria’s realm, where shadows loom large,
A tale unfolds, a burden hard to bear.
Fuel subsidy, a contentious charge,
A flame ignites and fills the air with care.
Oh, subsidy, a double-edged sword’s sting,
Where hopes are raised, but dreams are cast aside.
A promise made, yet broken like a string,
As cries of injustice echo far and wide.
For in the heart of every citizen,
The weight of prices soaring to the sky,
A heavy toll on pockets worn and thin,
As fuel’s cost ascends, ambitions die.
Yet in this realm, where voices intertwine,
A call for change, for justice to prevail.
To seek transparency, and light to shine,
On subsidies that cloak a nation’s tale.
Nigeria, land of promise and of might,
Let wisdom guide decisions, clear and true.
In serving people’s needs, let there be light,
To shape a future bright, for me and you.
Oh, subsidy, a burden to be borne,
May choices made with fairness and with care.
In unity, may truth and justice dawn,
And lift the weight that’s too heavy to bear.
