Happy International Poetry Day
“In the realm of words, my soul takes flight,
Through poetry, my emotions ignite.
Blessed I am to weave thoughts into art,
A poet’s pen is my beating heart.
In every line, a piece of me is freed,
In verse, my spirit finds the serenity it needs.
So I write to heal, to express, to be whole,
Blessed to be a poet, with a boundless soul”.

I am first a poet. Poetry found me as early as 11 years of age and has saved me on countless occasions. Congratulations to every poet I know that has inspired me to be more than my thoughts. I have been awarded for it, by the ” Institute of Authors Nigeria”. This gift has made me incredible friends, lovers, foes, cash and critiques.
But most importantly poetry has helped me know God, His very existence as true, His purpose, and beautiful creation. Poetry as one of the graces of God in my life makes me know what love is, hate is and how to live life more abundantly. So if you may, today appreciate a poet.

MY LOVES AFRICAN DREAM
Upon a night
The dream
Africa at peace under the moon light
He dreamt a dream
A dream so sweet
And told my heart to listen thus
Once upon a time
A dreamy African child
Able to love instead of hate
A free soul and glad
Writing on paper and slate
Every woman earns beside
This egalitarian man
Again streams flourishing tress
Sing in splendor
Glorious roots caresses the streams
And grace upon fields, no unpleasant odor
No beast or man hungers
In this dream nor lack smells
No wailing of distant wars
Nor children stricken with sickness
Neither child molester nor slave masters woes
To scorn the brown neediness
As health plays its symphony
Africa is all nations’ joy……
