Hungery Nigeria

It kills faster I have seen
Ripping open the very essence of its prey
Its Disfiguring effect is monstrous
Roaring and boasting through paths
Turning a potential leader
Into a potential killer

I have seen it devour
The woman with child
Bringing her to her knees
Throwing the hope off tommorow
Leaders of tomorrow into
Desperate devourers of tomorrow

Men have sold thier souls
Down this sorrowful path
Women have sold thier decency
Down its treacherous claws
Mothers turned hustlers
Fathers turned gigalos

It hovers above o
Exposing the eager tongue
That say what it should be
I say it is still hunger
That dictates the throne
Yes that vain throne you sit on
But it is a democratic age
Who wouldn’t do what they like
Smile just smile while they die

But we will not die
Neither will we be put down
We will arise early
our star will shine forever.
