How can one do missions without traveling?

Ibrahim Nathaniel: This is a very important question, as I have stated earlier not all of us are called to the same aspect of missions; we will all be at different fields and areas as the master of vineyard deems fit. (See Mat. 20:1 – 8)

In as much as we say that the Unreached People Groups (UPGs) are in the hinterlands and we may need to travel to reach them, I strongly believe that the largest mission field is the marketplace. This is because we all go to the market and it is a common ground that brings us together on different fronts and in some form.

Having said that, it is also important to note that the marketplace these days goes beyond just a physical location it is also virtual.

I will like to highlight two areas where you can easily do missions without traveling; one is by giving (sending those who go) and the other is at the workplace or marketplace.

Giving: those who give must give with the understanding that they are not just throwing money around, but they are making investments. Jesus said to keep our treasures in heaven where thieves and moths cannot steal or destroy (see Mat. 6:19 – 21). One sure way to do that is to give towards bringing men and women to salvation, when they are saved they won’t be damned, it is an eternal investment with an eternal value. Souls of men that are saved because you gave will count for you in all eternity.

The workplace: the workplace or the marketplace as I would love to call it is that place where we come in contact with so many people, some of them will trust us with their lives, some of them with their children and/or family members. Once we earn their trust, we can go ahead and share our faith with them without necessarily condemning them or telling them to convert, that will be a decision we must trust the Holy Spirit to help them make.

These two points might not be exhaustive, but surely a good place to start.

Remember you are important to God, come and receive His salvation today. Accept Jesus Christ to be your personal Lord and savior and you will be saved. Confess that He is God, the one who came through the virgin birth, that He lived, died, rose, and surely will return soon. Soon might be today.

Now that you are saved! Join a Bible-believing church. Make Jesus Christ first place in your life. He will show you things you can never imagine. Why not become a Missionary, now that you are born again?
