Missions, For The Illiterate and Poor? By Ibrahim Nathaniel

How do you react to the perception that mission is boring and for the illiterates and poor?

Answer

Firstly, I believe that there’s a huge misunderstanding about missions and missionaries that have affected the work negatively in so many ways.

Most of the places where the Unreached People Groups (UPGs) still exist are in the hinterlands, especially in Africa. It means if you intend to reach these people you have to go away from civilization and not many people are willing to do that.

Those who accept to go to the villages are mostly those with little or no education who will work with small budgets that can hardly get anything done.

These notions must be corrected and especially so as we look at the Great Commission from Jesus’ perspective; the soul of man is the most important thing to God; it is worth more than the whole world put together (value) and that is where God dwells (capacity). So missions are not for the “Poor and Illiterates”, but for the best of the best, when the best are deployed then we can see results that will truly glorify God.

You are important to God, come and receive His salvation today. Accept Jesus Christ to be your personal Lord and savior and you will be saved. Confess that He is God, the one who came through the virgin birth, that He lived, died, rose, and surely will return soon. Soon might be today.

Now that you are saved! Join a Bible-believing church. Make Jesus Christ first place in your life. He will show you things you can never imagine. Why not become a Missionary, now that you are born again?
