MY AFRICAN DREAM
Upon a night,
The dream,
Africa at peace under the moonlight,
He dreamt a dream,
A dream so sweet,
And told my heart to listen thus.
Once upon a time,
A dreamy African child,
Able to love instead of hate,
A free soul and glad,
Writing on paper and slate,
Every woman earns beside,
This egalitarian, man.
Again streams flourishing tress,
Sign in splendor,
Glorious roots caress the streams,
And grace upon fields, no unpleasant odor,
No beast or man hunger,
In this dream nor lack smells.
No wailing of distant wars,
Nor children stricken with sickness,
Neither child molester, nor slave masters woes,
To scorn the brown neediness,
As health plays its symphony,
Africa is all nations’ joy.
Freedom is gained,
As I hear the dancing feet,
The songs of birds regained,
Upon the raven earth,
Vast its ever green nature appeals,
My loves dream has become my delight.
All creatures canvass,
Welcoming the future,
As we hold hands in oneness,
Awaiting the peace well deserved in this future,
A journey well trekked,
Has won us a prize.
We are Africans rich in culture,
Abundant in rainfall,
That Grace our worlds nature,
As we share natures gifts,
My love woke hopeful and true,
Held me as one, equal with him.
