Nigeria: This too Shall Pass

This too shall pass

Faces looking in different directions, in search of a daily meal, at least those were days, we were familiar with. When we saw the sunrise we exclaim in amusement. The sound of rain gave us such sweet nostalgia. Some days having long reflective walks or romantic walks gave us such calmness. Climbing the hills and threes were a treasure. Children dreamt and hoped aloud, nothing was as glorious as watching them grow and thrive. Now, all that seem to hover over Nigeria is the fear of death, How did we get here?

The government keeps at their talk about willing intensions to bring an end to the religious chaos and ritualistic terrorism. All crucial actions crippled and bound by scepticism and corruption. They speak about change but only to the ruled as though the ruled were ever in agreement with their violent ambitions. If change will happen, it actually has to start from up, with the leaders. When the head is right the whole body will follow suit but the nation has become a two faced justice system. What Is the way out?

I was walking along a path in Sokoto and I noticed the walls of a police station broken down, I couldn’t help wondering how a security outlet, that has evidently failed in securing their stations could protect the life and properties of citizens? I came to my own comforting conclusion that, It is the, kind hearted that can keep at breaking the games of the greedy and lustful.

There is hope though. Nigeria will sing songs of hope again. Farmers will be able to farm and our streets will be safe again, our sun will shine again. Our faith will remain as it we stride on eagles wings. We will triumph and resurrect with wings for a more fierce but peaceful reign. Let’s hope on, pray on, believing in what God can do and is.He will wipe every tear from our eyes. Early have we seen the salvation of our God. Keep that dream alive, this too shall pass.
