Reasons why Hasken Rayuwa Foundation Afrika cares for out-of-school children
A lot of us have grown up being taught the importance of education and some of us never had the privilege but learned as we go. But why is education important? Through your frustrating school years especially in Nigeria where our curriculum seems cumbersome and other external discouraging factors, you may have thought that it was a waste of time, or was just something that you needed to do to get a job. Truth be told, however, education goes so much beyond just getting a job and making your parents happy. It’s one of the most powerful tools out there. Education means studying to obtain a deeper knowledge and understanding of a variety of subjects to be applied to daily life. Education is not limited to just knowledge from books, but can also be obtained through practical experiences outside of the classroom.
Hasken Rayuwa Foundation Afrika will be helping out-of-school children who left school because of one illness or the other. Children who are out of school due to the death of their parents will find hope and comfort and an opportunity to thrive. Also giving them the support to have thriving mental health, and heal from grief and trauma.
For many poor families, hunger, lack of school fees, and lack of school supplies will mean dropping out of school, so HRFA providing this essential will mean a major positive change.
Girls/ young woman often drop out of school because of a lack of personal care products that keeps them at home for some time every month. Eventually, they fall too far behind and drop out. Also, girls or young women become pregnant and will almost certainly drop out of school. Part of keeping girls from becoming pregnant is protecting them from abuse and transactional sex (sex in exchange for food, shelter, school fees, grades, etc.), When we give them access to education by providing all costs they will not only go to school but will excel as lights to their Nation.
We cannot make any change without this vehicle called education.
