Rise My North! Poet, Zainab Faruk Abdulkadir Jega

I have a voice

I write to be heard

You’ve melted me

Yet I’m solid

I am unstoppable

I play with words

You can’t stop me darling

You own no such power

Sometimes I’d walk,

walk far from home,

The things I’ve seen

The land green

Unripe

Thick forests

Trees in circles

Branches stretched

Leaves spread

The shade

The smell

Uhmmn optimism

Somethings are worth sighting

The things I’ve seen

and I alone.

The land green

Blessed Nigeria.

They are everywhere

Yes

Taking over

Rise North

We are so lazy

They are ready to work at 6am

Leaving us behind

They are always looking forward to

Rise Northerners

They are diligent

We have indolent habits

Lets be smart not slack

Else

Well prostrate before them

A day

We’ll live not to see

Massage

Arewa girls I want you to know
We are unstoppable
Nobody should break us and let us believe that our place is just in the house.
We should learn to do more
We shouldn’t allow marriages stop us from achieving our dreams
We should learn to stay determined and achieve our goals no matter what

This poem is so nice & awesome, Its also meaningful, cuz u take d main problem that is happening recently in this country, most especially in the northan Part of the country. we have to know our right & we should Let our husband knows that we knew our right, in a peaceful & orderly manner without fight or divorce.
Because being a woman doesn’t mean we don’t have ambission & goals to accomplish, Being married doesn’t mean Our life had finished or we are just married to be a housewive.
We have d right to be Educated , to go for training & raising awerness, cuz our parents spend a lot, all those years just for us to fulFill our ambitions & have a better life, so why would our husband let this go usefulness? While they always said They love us. If they Truly loves us why won’t they like our success & improvement? To me if u love ur wife let her achieve her goals & be empowered.
I’m saying it again zainab jega ur Poem is excellent, exciting & also remarkable, keep it up & be the voice of northern women & rise Northerners. More grace to ur elbow aunty & may god rewards u abundantly

A picture I understand speaks volumes. Words paint pictures that last longer than one’s imaginations. The expressions of the heart, only words can say. Keep your words flaming hot, that the heat will drive us all to do something for purposeful growth and profitable development.

    Keep those words coming…
