Today on: Healthy Homes and Healthy Spouses
There are things I see on social media that scare me, how some Christians also believe in and emulate ungodly marriages and unions. I hope that this article strengthens true believers who make an effort every day to say no to lust and yes to His righteousness. In addition that the careless believer will see the light in this and turn. If you desire a healthy home and spouse, you must commit to health in God’s way.
It is a lie from the pit of hell that men or women are wired to cheat, and it is blasphemy to say such irresponsible statements. It is unfortunate, we have heard such careless statements said or insinuated sadly even from pulpits, but no one who is living a Christ-centered life and understands that they were created in the image of God by God would believe and live by such primitive barbaric demonic confessions.
In chapter 19 of Matthew, we find the record of Jesus going to the coast of Judea, with “great multitudes” following Him. The Pharisees also came but, unlike the multitudes, they did not come to hear Jesus teach or have Him heal them of their infirmities. They had come to tempt Jesus with this question: “Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?”. Jesus answered them by saying, “Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning, it was not so”.
The answer Jesus Christ gave is very clear to any who would ask if it is lawful to put away your wife or husband or if God’s intention or original plan is for a man to be joined to a wife and side sex partners. Combine His statement with Scripture such as Exodus 20:14; Matthew 5:32; Mark 10:11, 12; and Luke 16:18, which speak against unions that constitute the sin of adultery, and Matthew 19:9; 1 Corinthians 6:9; and 1 Corinthians 7:2, which address and repudiate the unlawful alliances of fornication. These verses of the Bible reflect the established doctrine of The Church of God’s teaching regarding a biblical marriage of one man with one woman for life.
“From the beginning, it was not so,” are the words of Jesus, and they speak volumes when we consider how far man has removed himself from the will of God regarding the first divine institution God established at the beginning of creation. It is an explicit declaration that God’s established and designed blueprint for marriage between people of the opposite sex at the time of Genesis, during Christ’s time on earth, and now over 2,000 years later, has not changed. This was and still is God’s blueprint for any man or woman who desires to live by the biblical standard of a blessed and successful marriage in the eyes of God.
Let us be careful of people you make role models who call evil righteousness. Adultery only brings pain, shame, calamity, and perpetual bondage from generation to generation and you have seen it. Pretending not to witness the destructive nature of a promiscuous life will not change it for what it is. Choose life, choose faithfulness and righteousness. God did not create any Man or Woman to be promiscuous Men and women choose by their will to live as they wish and therefore face the consequences of their actions, beliefs, and confessions.
The first red flag is not seeing or appreciating those who through Faith have obtained the promise, the promise of being as Christ, having a marriage void of adultery, or any form of abuse. Watch out!
I believe in the resurrecting power of Christ and its ability to heal and change lives. Allow Him to change you. You are loved.
