A Woman at The Grave Side

Tears at the grave side,

What are they for, what do they mean?

The dropping of a water fall, magnificent but heartbreaking,

What does it mean for a wailing woman at the grave side?

I watched her from a microscope,

She gasped out words of confusion,

Each word a pain of what it would have been,

Maybe if she forgave him, or confessed to him her own wishful vengeful lust.

A motivated fear, requesting to be fought for.

Why the tears?

Is it a sigh,

Or that memory of his subtlety, a dark poetic indiscretion,

Passionate kisses during making babies,

Painful betrayals during grooming,

Why are you crying,

Do you miss the childlike romance?

The memory of what it could be?

Or the fist of his adulterous ways?

Why the dripping of tears

Of a woman who lost a faithful man?

Who misses evil?

Are these happy tears at the grave side?

Or a sadness, a wail, a woman hails when a faithful lover dies?

What has really broken you?

Is it the lover or a love that was never true

Are they tears; of regrate, of time a waste, what pain to remain when you have been replaced ,

Replaced, but not a changed portrait.

How sad these tears

Held back for years

To love and not loved,
